# Text messages from 76032

> Why UAS is texting you from short code 76032, how to confirm a message is real, and how to stop the texts.

You can receive text messages about your account — payment reminders and similar. It is optional.

## Why you are getting texts from 76032

**76032 is our number.** Universal Account Servicing (UAS) is the company that services your credit
account — we handle the billing for whoever you bought from. Texts about your account come from
that five-digit short code, and from no other number.

You are getting them because you agreed to them. **Most people agree at signing and do not remember
it**, which is the usual reason a message feels like it came out of nowhere. There are three ways it
can have happened:

|                       |                                                                                                                              |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **When you signed** | You checked a box agreeing to account texts during the application. This is the most common one |
| **In your paperwork** | Your credit application and agreement include a consent disclosure covering texts, automated calls, and prerecorded messages |
| **By text** | You sent **START** to 76032 yourself, or checked **Opt-In SMS** in uPortal360 |

<Note>
  **You do not have to keep them.** Reply **STOP** to any message and they end. Doing that does not
  affect your account, your agreement, or anything you owe — see [Stopping
  them](#stopping-them).
</Note>

### Checking that a text is really from us

<Warning>
  **We will never ask you for your full card number, your bank account number, or your Social
  Security number by text.**

  If a message asks for any of those, it is not from us — whatever number it came from. Do not
  reply, and do not use a phone number or link inside the message.
</Warning>

A real message from us:

* Comes from **76032**, never from a 10-digit mobile or landline number
* Names Universal Account Servicing
* Asks you to sign in to uPortal360 or call the number on your statement, rather than to send
  anything back by reply
* Tells you how to opt out

If you are not sure, go to [uportal360.com](https://uportal360.com/) directly, or call the number on
your statement. Never the number in the message. There is more on spotting a fake across every
channel in [How and when we contact
you](/trust-and-compliance/how-we-contact-you#telling-a-real-message-from-a-scam).

## Signing up

If you agreed at signing, you are already enrolled and do not need to do anything.

To start from scratch: **text START to 76032.**

> By texting START, you agree to receive text messages from Universal Account Servicing, LLC
> regarding your account, such as payment reminders, at the phone number used. Message and data
> rates may apply. Message frequency will vary. To opt out at any time, reply STOP, or HELP for
> more information.

You can also opt in inside uPortal360: under **Contact Info**, select **Edit** beside **Phone
Numbers** and check **Opt-In SMS** against your cell number.

## Stopping them

**Reply STOP to any message.** That is the fastest way, and it works immediately.

**STOP**, **END**, **CANCEL**, **QUIT** and **UNSUBSCRIBE** all work. You will get one confirmation
that the messages have stopped, and nothing after that.

To start again later, reply **START** or **UNSTOP**.

You can also clear the **Opt-In SMS** box in uPortal360, or [tell us](/getting-help/contacting-uas).

Reply **HELP** or **INFO** to any message for our phone number and a link to sign in.

<Warning>
  **If you want to cancel your purchase, texting CANCEL is not enough.** Those words stop the text
  messages, and we will always honor that. They do not cancel your agreement, your AutoPay, or what
  you owe.

  If cancelling the purchase is what you meant, call us or
  [open a support request](/getting-help/opening-a-support-request) as well — otherwise you have
  switched off the channel we would have used to reach you.
</Warning>

## What it costs

We do not charge for text messages. **Your mobile provider may** — standard message and data rates
apply, depending on your plan.

## When they arrive, and how often

Texts go out on **business days between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM** in your own time zone. Never overnight
and never on a weekend.

Message frequency varies. Texts are tied to activity on your account rather than sent on a schedule,
so a month with nothing happening is a month with no texts.

## What we text you about

Every message is about your account and tells you how to opt out, and messages identify us rather
than arriving from an unexplained number. **We do not send marketing or offers on this channel.**

|                        |                                                                                                                      |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Getting started** | A welcome message after you sign, and our contact details to save |
| **Payment reminders** | Three days before your first payment is due |
| **AutoPay** | When a payment posts, when one fails, when your saved card is about to expire, and if your AutoPay method is removed |
| **Missed payments** | Reminders while a payment is outstanding |
| **Promotional offers** | At 45, 30, 15 and 5 days before your promotional period ends                                                         |
| **Missing details** | If we have no mailing address or email address for you |

## What you are agreeing to

<Info>
  **A mobile number is not a condition of your credit.** You are not required to provide one, and
  opting out of texts does not affect your account.
</Info>

Providing a mobile number authorizes us to contact you about servicing and collecting on your
account — including by text, automated dialing, and prerecorded message — but **not to market to
you**. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Stopping texts does not stop other channels. If you also want to change email or calls, see
[How and when we contact you](/trust-and-compliance/how-we-contact-you).
